Water Babies autumn term

Water Babies' autumn term of classes starts at the end of August. The term runs for 10 weeks with weekend and weekday classes held in Oranmore, Ballybrit, Salthill, Newcastle, Athenry, and Claregalway.

Water Babies is run by Jamie and Lisa Cobbe and currently teaches some 850 babies and toddlers every week in Galway, Mayo, Limerick, and Sligo.

The poet who went mad on Inishboffin

In 1959 the poet Richard Murphy renovated the black-sailed Ave Maria, a traditional Galway hooker, which he used to ferry visitors to Inishboffin, and for a day’s fishing. This comes as this year’s Leaving Cert results show an increase, under the new marking scheme, of student securing top level marks in STEM subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, technical graphics, and maths.
