The Galway Advertiser is a free newspaper serving Galway City and County that forms part of the Advertiser Newspaper Group, which includes the Athlone Advertiser.
The Galway Advertiser was the first free newspaper of it’s kind, and is the longest running Advertiser newspaper in Ireland. It was established in 1970 by Ronnie O’Gorman, who remains owner of the Advertiser Newspaper Group, and contributes weekly to the Old Galway Diary in the newspaper and on the podcast.
The Galway Advertiser is the largest circulating paper in Galway City and County, free or paid for. It has a circulation of 40,480, with 24,508 papers delivered directly into people’s homes around Galway every Thursday, and 25,000 online readers each week.
This newspaper provides a combination of informative and engaging articles from award winning journalists, comprehensive local area features, historical storytelling, as well as high quality advertising, all of which contribute to it’s readership of 131,610 in Galway city and county.
The Galway Advertiser is also involved in sponsoring key cultural events in the city, from the Film Fleadh to the Galway International Arts Festival, as well as running it’s own Advertiser Events which have included the annual Career & Education Conference, Pathways, and concerts from bands such as Shaskeen.
The paper is written, designed and produced in Galway, with strong links to the local community through readers, customers, advertisers, and events. It’s office in Eyre Square highlights it’s continued place at the centre of Galway life.

The Athlone Advertiser is a free newspaper serving Athlone and County Westmeath, that forms part of the Advertiser Newspaper Group, which includes the Galway Advertiser.
The Athlone Advertiser was established in 2006, and it’s current office is on
Sean Costello St, Athlone, Co. Westmeath. With a circulation of 8,000 papers distributed every Thursday, 6,000 of which are delivered directly into people’s homes, the Athlone Advertiser has almost twice the circulation of any other paper in the region.

If Ads are being SUPPLIED we can only accept Artwork as follows
- pdf / jpeg / tif (pdf is preferred for quality) Word/Excel/Powerpoint files cannot be used.
- Must be High Resolution
- Must be sized to the exact dimensions (in millimetres)
- All fonts must be embedded
- All images must be flattened and CMYK
- All files must be supplied without crop marks.
- All artwork must include the Ad Number (as reference to match artwork with the booking)
- All suppliers must be advised to view the full colour printing spec from our printer http://www.irishtimes.com/about-us/advertise/production-information
