Doing a PLC course has many advantages for students who may not fully know their preferred area of study and it also acts as a viable route to higher education courses. Wed, Aug 16, 2017
My name is Owen, and I'm a luthier from Cork. Fun fact, a luthier is a person who builds and repairs stringed musical instruments. I live in Cork but come to Galway regularly to visit family and check out the music scene. You don't have to go to a gig to see world class music, it's right there on the streets with some of the best buskers I've ever seen. Galway is a place where the weird and wonderful collide to create something new and unique. In my opinion, the people of Galway aren't just those living here, everybody who passes through is part of what makes it Galway. The city automatically welcomes you and makes you a member of the Galway tribe. You don't have to be from here, or even live here to feel at home and accepted. No matter who you are or where you're from, Galway feels like home while you're in it. It has the quaint cosy homely feel of a small town, with the bustle and events and melting pot of a large city. There is always something to do, and it's easy to make friends with all of these events going on.

The Commercial Rowing Club was set up in May 1875. The Corrib Rowing and Yachting Club had been in existence since 1864, but as it was the only such club on the river, there was a distinct lack of competition for its oarsmen. Commercial provided that competition.

Thu, Aug 10, 2017
Five Irish producers were honoured at the 2017 Euro-Toques Food Awards on Monday July 31. Although Euro-Toques itself was stablished in 1996, the awards were set up in 2005 to recognise producers of “food of notable flavour and quality” and are the only awards which are bestowed by Irish chefs. They are held annually to celebrate food produced in Ireland, no shortlists or nominations are published. Instead, the committee selects the products or producers whom they believe most deserve to be singled out in any particular year, based on the nominations of its members, with usually only five awards being presented annually.
