BEX MARSHALL, a 2015 European Blues Awards nominee and recipient of the Best British Blues Vocalist and Album at the 2013 UK Blues Awards, plays Monroe's Live on Thursday May 19.
Marshall's guitar style combines slide, blues rock, ragtime, and roots, while her voice has a powerful, soulful, edge, and she has earned comparisons to JJ Cale, Bonnie Raitt, and Janis Joplin. Indeed, Bex was personally chosen by Janis Joplin’s guitarist Sam Andrew, to be the “voice of Janis” on his 2014 European tour, playing the Summer of Love Festival in Kent, Sonic Rock Festival in Wales, and the Glastonbury Fringe Festival.
Bex's album The House Of Mercy received glowing reviews worldwide and was featured in Downbeat’s Best Albums of the Year 2013 list.
