The Celtic Nutcracker at the Town Hall

A fusion of Tchaikovsky with Irish trad from The Hession School of Dancing

THE CELTIC Nutcracker, a fusion of Tchaikovsky's celebrated ballet score with Irish traditional music, comes to the Town Hall Theatre on Monday December 16 and Tuesday 17.

The show is presented by The Hession School of Dancing, and features a cast of more than 150 dancers, ranging in ages from six to 21, and from novice to world champions.

The Nutcracker centres on Marie, as she visits a wondrous world of chocolate, coffee, tea, and marzipan, through the magic of Godfather Drosselmeyer, culminating in a modern, hip-hop interpretation of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and featuring a capella group Pentatonix.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ). The show is on at 7.30pm on December 16 and 17, with a matinee at 4pm on December 17.
