Both teams are on the back of a nice run of wins. Tyrone annexed the McKenna Cup for the fifth year in a row recently and they also defeated Cavan last Sunday (0-10 to 0-8) in a dogfight in Healy Park in Omagh. Galway cantered home by eight points (3-12 to 1-10) over Laois to follow up their FBD success.

The 2011 champions Killimor will play Milford in the AIB All-Ireland Senior Camogie Club final this season.

Brenda Hanney produced a super display to help Killimor keep Loughgiel Shamrocks at bay in Sunday's semi-final at St Tiernach’s Park in Clones. The former Galway star scored 1-3 in a player-of-the-match performance and, with Susan Keane adding 1-2, the westerners were able to maintain control, seeing off Loughgiel by by 2-7 to 1-5.

2016 Galway Championship draw

The draws for the 2016 Galway senior and intermediate football championship will be broadcast live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta from its headquarters in Casla, Connemara, next Tuesday February 9 at 8.30pm. Twenty teams will contest the senior competition, and 16 in the intermediate championship. The senior competition will include last year’s champions Corofin, last year’s intermediate champions Moycullen, and five other Gaeltacht teams – An Cheathrú Rua, Naomh Anna, Carna/Caiseal, Micheál Breathnach and Bearna. The intermediate teamsinclude Naomh Feichín, An Clochán, which won the 2015 Junior Championship, as well as three Gaeltacht teams –An Spidéal, Oileáin Árann and Claregalway.
