New fisheries campaign aimed at trout anglers during Mayfly season

Inland Fisheries Ireland recently announced the launch of a new campaign, ‘Operation Ephemera’, which is designed to alert anglers to the intensification of efforts to detect those who either take undersize trout or more trout than the rules allow.

Senator Alice-Mary Higgins has welcomed Facebook’s announcement that they will end sales of online political ads to overseas actors in advance of the May 25 Referendum. She described it as a sign that the platform is listening to some of the concerns raised by herself and others, including civil society groups like Transparency Referendum.
She said that other platforms including Google and indeed YouTube now need to step up and show that they are also taking this issue seriously.

On Sunday May 20 at 12pm, The Miscarriage Association of Ireland will be hosting its second annual Remembrance Walk to honour and celebrate the lives of babies that have been lost through miscarriage. Registration for the walk is from 11am outside the Claddagh Hall, Galway. The entry fee is €10 or €15 for a family.
