Easter themed cookery demo for coeliacs

The western branch of the Coeliac Society of Ireland is inviting coeliacs, their families and friends to attend an Easter themed cookery demonstration on Monday April 4 at the Westwood Hotel, Newcastle. Registration is at 7pm.

The demonstration is sponsored by Glutafin which will provide recipes and gluten free goodie bags on the night.

Welcoming the announcement of the review by Social Protection Minister Joan Burton, Colm Keaveney said there was a significant amount of money involved.

At Monday evening’s failed council meeting, the Fine Gael councillor agreed to mediation beginning yesterday morning. However, Cllr Conneely is criticizing the councils attempt to propose Galway city mayor Michael Crowe as the mediator.

Investigation into Riverside fire to get under way as businesses bounce back

Gardaí were yesterday awaiting confirmation that the buildings destroyed in a fire at Riverside Commercial Estate on Saturday night are safe enough to allow a technical examination to get under way. Four premises were gutted in the blaze, which was the biggest fire in Galway since the Farah factory fire of 1986.
