Family Fun Day and Novelty Dog Show this weekend

Adults, children and much-loved dogs are invited to a Family Fun Day and Dog Show being held at St Finbars club at Southpark in the Claddagh this Sunday (May 26) from 1pm to 5pm. The fun-filled celebration will help raise money and awareness for the GRCC and local dog charity MADRA.

President Michael D Higgins will address the 2013 Coimbra Group Annual Conference taking place at NUI, Galway this week.
This is the first time that NUI Galway has hosted the event in 25 years. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Creativity, Research and Innovation in Universities’. The conference will run from Wednesday May 22 to Friday May 24.

Good news for those who were looking forward to An Tóstal Salthill as the event has been rescheduled to take place this coming Sunday, May 26, with many fun activities planned for its 60th anniversary celebrations.
It had been previously publicised in this paper that the event was taking place on May 5 last however, organisers made the decision to postpone the event due to adverse weather conditions which would have had safety implications for participants in the currach racing.
