I moved into Galway the same day the black Swan arrived. So it made sense the Swan was going to make more of an impact. I realized that been on the road most Thursday to Saturdays, Galway was a good place to rest my head and do nothing. The hairdresser on Abbey Gate told me that once you move here, you’d never leave. I now understand where he’s coming from. I really love Galway and I don’t want to leave it. I’ll miss its local town comfort and the craic with my housemates Mary and John. Taking both to The Cliffs of Moher in October, thinking this would help their cough. It was always great to have my Sister’s Family in Clarrinbridge to call over too.

Calling all graduates of St Patrick’s National School

On April 1, 1954, 941 boys marched from the Bish National School, Nuns’ Island, and from the Old Mon in Market Street to their ultra-modern bright new school, St Patrick’s, which was situated at the corner of Lombard Street and Bridge Street. The new school was built on a site which had been the location of the Shambles Barracks, which was occupied by the British army for many years up until 1909.

Hi, my name is Cian Waters. I'm from Craughwell Co. Galway. I like hanging out with my friends and playing soccer on the local astroturf. I really love Galway, it's a nice place to live, very safe, the people are extremely nice. It's also a very cheap place to live compared to Dublin which is a bonus. I'm here on the N59 selling Strawberries and planning on going to Formentera, Spain later in the summer.
