The competition, run in conjunction with Ireland’s largest food awards the Irish Restaurants Awards, will see towns and communities from all over the country being faced by judges and battling it out to win the public vote to be named Ireland’s premier foodie destination.

MLD therapy and the management of lymphoedema

Tuam Cancer Care Support and Information Centre will host two Saturday workshops this month. The first of these will be held on Saturday May 17 from 11am to 1pm. The subject will be manual lymph drainage therapy for the treatment and management of lymphoedema. Elaine Grehan, registered MLD therapist, will give an information presentation along with a demonstration of the Hivomat machine (deep tissue oscillator), and the benefits of using this. This workshop will be of particular interest to people who would like to gain a better understanding of their own condition. There will be a questions and answers session afterwards, and a light lunch will be provided. Places are limited and booking is essential.
