Customer testimonial on Plexus Bio Energy

Thu, Apr 17, 2014

I visited Plexus Bio Energy in Galway in September 2013. I had suffered from mental and physical exhaustion for a year and a half after cutting short a trip abroad. I could no longer work in the fast paced corporate world where I travelled a great deal. I had no energy to function, as well as suffering from severe depression Iwas emotionally the lowest and weakest I've ever felt in my life. I had gone on medication for depression for five months but I did not like the side effects. I did otherformsof complementary therapy which helped me, but when I visited Tina and Michael I was looking for emotional healing as well as fully restoring my energy and eliminating the depres sion so I could work and return to a normal life.

Aikido: True victory is self-victory

Thu, Apr 17, 2014

Aikido is a Japanese martial art that promotes self-awareness and personal development. Its techniques are entirely focused on self-defence, and involve unbalancing and controlling an aggressor without recourse to violence. Instead, relaxed, circular movements blend with the movement of the attack, and destabilize the attacker using his or her own momentum. The training develops physical stamina, resilience, suppleness, co- ordination, and timing. On a deeper level, aikido teaches how to face stressful situations with focus, resolve, and clarity. There are no competitions, and men and women of all sizes and physical conditions can practice safely together.

Market Street, one hundred years ago

Thu, Apr 10, 2014

The title of this photograph is ‘Old Building, Market Street’ and it was taken about 100 years ago. The building in the foreground was at one time occupied by the Augustinian nuns who were based in Galway (where the Mechanics is today in Middle Street) before 1651. The last Augustinian nun to die in Ireland is buried in Forthill. These sisters formed part of the same Augustinian Order as the friars, as do their contemplative successors today in countries like Spain and Italy. Continuing persecutions and other historical pressures saw to the end of these nuns in Ireland, though some lingered on in Galway up to the middle of the 19th century.

A child’s time on Spanish Island

Thu, Apr 10, 2014

I believe that my grandfather, Ronnie Hackett, was surprised when my grandmother agreed to marry him. He was the youngest of six brothers and four sisters, born in the Blackrock area of Cork city. Many of the brothers having a medical qualification went off to see the world with the British merchant navy. But in their later lives all came back to Cork, and enjoyed a happy life fishing and shooting, and a little bit of medicine. Indeed there are several family stories about a brother’s wife apologising to a full waiting room for her husband’s abrupt departure ‘on an urgent medical matter’. Whereas in fact, the call was from another brother to come fishing.

Lose up to two stone in ten weeks

Thu, Apr 10, 2014

There are three keys to a genuine weight loss (real fat loss) plan — diet, exercise, and metabolism correction. All three keys interconnect — one will not work without the other.

Your metabolism is the most powerful of the three keys — it is the switch that controls everything else. In most people this switch is off. Metabolism problems such as slow thyroid, type 2 diabetes, sluggish liver, hormone imbalances, PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, and digestive problems such as constipation, IBS, and diverticulitis will limit or stop your weight loss, no matter how much dieting or exercise you do.

Out with the old

Thu, Apr 10, 2014

I spent a few years working on Eyre Square many moons ago, when the lunchtime choices were few and far between. My old boss would always try to convince us to have a hefty carvery dinner in Fagan's (in the Great Southern) which would lead to a soporific afternoon in the office trying to keep my eyes from shutting while staring glassy eyed at my computer screen.
