Spring garden event at Claregalway Castle

Claregalway Castle will host a spring garden fair on Sunday April 3 from 11am to 6pm. This fair will feature some of Ireland's best nurseries and rare plant specialists, most of whom are members of Irish Specialist Nursery Association.

There will be a variety of informal practical talks and demonstrations and the coffee shop will be open. Go along and get all your gardening questions answered.

Exhibitors will include the following:

Leamore Nursery: Specialising in peonies and other perennials based just outside Ashford, Co Wicklow.

Future Forests: From West Cork, this company has a great selection of native and unusual trees, conifers, shrubs, climbers, fruit trees and bushes, etc.

Boyne Garden Centre: A lovely selection of perennials and paeonia roses and a unique collection of top quality plants grown in the nursery. This award winning garden centre has seven successive gold medals including three medals for Best in Show at Bloom and Garden Show Ireland.

Caherhurley Nursery: Plants that are 100 per cent home-grown, 100 per cent Irish, certified organic and grown outdoors on a windy mountain slope.

Rare Plants Ireland: A range of rare and unusual trees, shrubs, and perennials.

Sarah Largue: Contemporary and vintage garden and conservatory artefacts.

Also in attendance will be Harrington Exotics, Irish Water Plants, and more. Admission is free. Do not miss this special opportunity to meet the experts as the gardening season gets under way.

Mark your diary — the annual Galway Garden Festival will take place on Saturday July 2 and Sunday July 3 from 11am to 6pm daily.
