FEBRUARY sees the 131st anniversary of James Joyce’s birth and fittingly enough it also sees the Town Hall Theatre hosting the award-winning stage show, Joyced!
Written by Donal O’Kelly and performed by his daughter Katie, the production was greeted with rapturous reviews at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It comes to the Town Hall on Tuesday February 12 at 8pm.

This Friday night sees the welcome return of the gorgeous Kit Kola to the Beatroom upstairs in the Roisin Dubh. Kit has been rocking dancefloors for years with her eclectic mix of Rockabilly, Jump Blues, Soul and funk to name just a few genres. The Beatroom was the brainchild of both Byron and Kit and has been a a storming success packing the dancefloor every Friday night. THE GALWAY Arts Centre’s first poetry slam of 2013 takes place on Tuesday February 12 at 7pm in the centre at 47 Dominick Street.
Participants are required to bring one poem/piece that will take a maximum of three minutes to perform. The winner will be selected on the night and will be invited to perform as a guest speaker at the March poetry slam on March 19, in addition to qualifying for the Grand Slam Final, which will take place during the Cúirt Festival in April.
