GIFTED GALWAY dance company Chrysalis grace the Black Box Theatre next week with its new production, Slings and Arrows, which will showcase its remarkable versatility and promises to be a visceral feast for the senses.
The show is a double-bill in which the featured pieces are Bow and Arrow, a new work for six dancers with an original score, and Symphony in Sync which is set to the ‘Summer’ and ‘Winter’ concertos from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

THE COLOURFUL life and remarkable career of singer Josef Locke is celebrated in a new show, Blaze Away!, which comes to the Town Hall this Saturday at 8pm.
Born in Derry, Locke was a hugely popular entertainer from the 1940s through to the 1960s, with hits like ‘Hear My Song, Violetta’, ‘Come Back to Sorrento’, ‘Cara Mia’, and ‘Blaze Away’. His careers also had plenty of offstage drama with numerous love affairs and a headline-making run-in with the taxman that forced him to flee Britain.

Lísín - Scoil na Páistí Deasa (Lísín – The school for Posh Kids) written by Patricia Forde and illustrated by Joelle Dreidemy centres on Lísín, a pirate who is forced to attend school, on land. Her classmates are rather stuck up, but she is determined to train them in the art of piracy.
