Japanese Film Festival brings international cinema to Galway screens this April

Galway audiences will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of Japanese cinema this April, as the Japanese Film Festival Ireland returns with a series of screenings at Eye Cinema.

Now in its 17th year, the nationwide festival will run from April 8 to 30, bringing 17 films to venues across the country. In Galway, screenings are scheduled from April 15 to 18, forming part of a broader programme spanning 10 counties.

Glenamaddy Players bring Chapatti to All-Ireland Confined Drama Finals

Glenamaddy Players have secured a place in the All-Ireland Confined Drama Finals, which will take place in Carrickmore, Co Tyrone, from April 9 to 17, with the awards ceremony scheduled for April 18.

The group will perform Chapatti by Christian O’Reilly on Thursday, April 16, following the official draw held on March 29. Reaching the All-Ireland stage is a significant achievement for any drama group, with competition becoming increasingly strong each year.
