Students from schools across Galway and Roscommon showcased creativity, leadership and strongly shared values at a special event in Galway Community College earlier this month.
On March 20, the school in Wellpark hosted the Walking with Ethos Through Our School video initiative for students under the aegis of the Galway-Roscommon Education & Training Board.
The event brought together schools to present short films created by students, each offering a unique perspective on how GRETB ethos, culture and values are reflected in daily school life. The projects highlighted themes such as inclusion, respect, collaboration and student voice, demonstrating the important role young people play in shaping positive school communities.
A key highlight of the day was the appointment of new GRETB Student Ethos Ambassadors. These students will act as positive role models within their schools, supporting a strong school culture and promoting GRETB values through their interactions with peers, teachers and the wider school community.
The event showcased the power of student leadership and the impact of giving young people a platform to express themselves.
The GRETB commended all participating students and schools for their commitment, creativity and engagement, noting that the initiative reflects a shared dedication to fostering inclusive and values?driven school environments across the region.
