110THE STREET DJs Cyril Briscoe and Cian Ó Cíobháin will host their Hive clubnight tomorrow in the Róisín Dubh from 11.15pm.

Hive is, according to the duo, “a joyous and debonair voyage” through disco, house, hip-hop, Italo, techno, post-punk, new wave or lost classics. Expect to hear New Order, Robert Palmer, Daft Punk, Kate Bush, Dead Kennedys, Ariel Pink, LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads, The Human League, The Clash, and Hot Chip.

Sétanta breathes new life into the ancient story of Sétanta and Ferdia, delivering a stylised tale of greed, power, envy, and love. The play tells how these two young warriors become sworn enemies under the reign of the all-powerful Medb. Fíbín makes exciting use of multimedia including explosive visuals, music specially composed by Mel Mercier, and almost 50 hand-made highly expressive masks by Matthew Guinnane.

The Field at Renvyle House Hotel

JOHN B KEANE’S classic play The Field will be staged by Wild Swan Theatre Company in the Renvyle House Hotel on Friday April 19 and Saturday 20.

When the film version, starring John Hurt and the late Richard Harris, was shot in Connemara in 1989/1990, the Renvyle House Hotel played host to the cast and crew.
