MARTIN STAUNTON & The Lost Parade will bring their folk-rock styled sound to Monroe’s Live this Saturday at 8pm.

The band is centred around Martin and his sister Emma. Although they are originally from East Galway, they are based in Dublin and regularly play venues like Whelans, The Button Factory, and Vicar Street. The Monroe’s show will be their debut Galway city gig.

The Walls @ Monroe’s Live

THE WALLS were originally a band centred on brothers Joe and Steve Wall, but this year finds them in a new incarnation.

The Walls play Monroe’s Live on Friday April 29 at 9.30pm and the audience will be treated to a very unusual spectacle - the two brothers playing a variety of instruments in front of a projection screen where the rest of their band will appear to accompany them in perfect sync.

THE COMMUNITY Skratch Games 2011, celebrating turntable manipulation and sample culture, opens this evening at 8pm at the 126 Gallery, Queen Street.

The opening will see the launch of Deviant & Naive Ted’s Send In The Hounds 12”. This is an Irish folk based record, created from a box of dusty old records, performed, compiled and arranged by hand with minimal digital manipulation.
