PERFECT CONCUSSION (Watching You Dance) is the title of a new multi-media show which opens in the Galway Arts Centre tomorrow.
The show has been created by the Cork artists collective Not Abel and will feature sculpture, sound, music, video, photography, and “recontextualised detritus”.

LAST WEEKEND saw worldwide ceremonies observing International Holocaust Memorial Day, including a commemoration at Dublin’s Mansion House, attended by President Michael D Higgins.
The Memorial Day was officially designated in 2005 by the United Nations and marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, on January 27 1945, by soldiers of the Red Army.

TO MARK the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens, the Galway Musical Society will present the Irish premiere of the Broadway musical A Tale of Two Cities.
The Irish premiere night will be Wednesday March 21 at 8pm and there will be a wine and food reception from 7pm. The play will run until Saturday March 24.

Cut from the opening credits to the studio and there was Sean Bán Breathnach with a shock of electrified sandy hair - looking like a skinny Mick Hucknall - sitting among the audience, ag caint as Gaelige about what would be coming up on his show that evening, and, if he could get away with it, throwing in the odd risqué - for the time - joke as well.
