For example, the Medical Council of Ireland states that most non-European medical personnel must score an overall Band 7 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS ). However, the Medical Council also accepts a C1 level in Cambridge Advanced English. This is possibly a more achievable route. For emigration to Canada or Australia, an IELTS score is also required.
