Spanish, German, Italian, and Chinese classes are all recommencing this month at the Language Institute in the Granary Learning Centre. Arabic is also back while Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Czech, Slovak, and Japanese are also on offer. For those learning English the centre will also offer its successful Cambridge exam preparation classes for the FCE and CAE exams in March.
The Spanish for children classes start again on Saturdays at the end of January. This has proven to be an extremely popular way for children to have fun and meet new friends while learning something useful. There are younger and older age groups for children so all ages can be accommodated. Last term the school’s youngest student was three years old and the oldest was 12.
There is always something new at the institute and the coming term is no exception. Practical Polish for the European Cup is an especially designed introductory course based on the ever popular institute’s approach to practical Spanish. The emphasis is on the everyday words and phrases that people need to get around, ask directions, and acquire information. Specific knowledge about the cities where the matches will take place will be provided as will information about local customs, transportation options and footballing terms. The course will be interactive and fun but most importantly will contribute to everyone’s enjoyment of a trip to Poland.
Language classes at the Granary Learning Centre take place evenings, mornings, and weekends in the winter and spring so there will be a class time to suit almost everyone. The Language Institute at the Granary is located in a beautifully renovated building in the city centre away from any traffic noise. All the classrooms look out onto the river and are modern, bright, and warm. Check out the Language Institute’s website, www.languageinstitute.ie for more information and the complete schedule.
