Imperial Hotel keeping up with the times

Galway’s well known city hotel is sleek, comfortable, and affordable. The Imperial hotel on Eyre Square has the advantage of having public transport, tour buses, and city centre shops all on its doorstep. Built originally in 1810, the hotel has enjoyed pride of place as the city’s most central hotel.

Following an extension in 1990, and total refit in 2007, the Imperial is now a superb 85 bed modern hotel. Bedrooms have increased in size and been equipped to a very high standard, with airconditing and king size beds as standard.

The trendy bar and restaurant serve good quality affordable food all day, with breakfast starting at 10am. A carvery lunch is available from 12 noon to 4pm, with bar food available throughout the day. A lunch club, recently set up has been very popular according to John Gannon, of the Imperial hotel; “The club is a way to reward our regular customers, by giving them one free meal for every nine bought”. The family run hotel prides itself on excellent customer service, high quality food, and very loyal staff.

Award winning panel of Ireland chef, Martin Kelly, is on hand to ensure all food is served fresh and of a high quality. The hotel caters for birthday parties, Communions, and Confirmations. In addition there is also a private function room that can cater for up to 50 people.

John Gannon says: “The hotel is the perfect place for tourists to base themselves, we are right in the centre of Galway city. We can organise tours, packages, transport, and anything that our customers require.” Special offers are available on the hotel’s website www.imperialhotelgalway.ie
