Kiltiernan flood relief scheme nearing end

After two years, the Kiltiernan to Ballinderreen Flood Relief Scheme is almost complete, leading to what one TD called “a sense of relief in the community”.

The works, which have cost more than €300,000 will alleviate the flood risk in the area. The works were in response to severe flooding at Kiltiernan National School in 2009 and 2016. The scheme was partially funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland, with major funding approved by the Office of Public Works, through the Minor Works Scheme.
