The autumn term 2025 at the Spanish Institute is just around the corner. A variety of courses are starting the week of September 22 for adults of all levels, from beginner to advanced. The new schedule of courses is available on the institute’s website www.spanishinstitute.ie.

The Spanish Institute, which has been running for the last 10 years and has become the centre of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture in Galway, is located in the Bridge Mills, in the heart of Galway city.

Lecture on the university and the Great War

Many children will sadly, early in their lives, face the devastation and heartbreak caused by the death of a loved one. The “Growing Up in Ireland” study revealed that 2.2 per cent of nine-year-olds have lost a parent, one per cent, a sibling, and 28 per cent have experienced the death of a grandparent. Previous reports suggest that 30 per cent of adolescents have had at least one sudden loss in their lifetime.
