Did you know that you could learn how to save a life in just two hours? Some day that life could be a family member, friend, or neighbour.
Local heart and stroke charity Croí, in association with Mayo PCCC HSE West is inviting members of the public to a two-hour evening course on how to respond to a cardiac, choking, or stroke emergency, which will take place on Thursday May 10 next in the Downhill House Hotel, Ballina, Co Mayo from 6pm to 8.30pm.

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission this week recommended that disciplinary proceedings be taken against only one of the gardaí who were the subject of it’s investigation into the so-called ‘Corrib rape tape’. The Ombudsman report also outlined that a Garda sergeant who was caught speaking on the recording had retired from the force and was not subject to disciplinary proceedings any more.
