A man who stole two bottles of Wally’s Hut Chardonnay from a Centra shop in Killala on Good Friday was before Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
Mark Murphy, 54 Ridgepool Village, Ballina, entered Centra in Killala on April 6 2012 where he went under the taped off area at the off-licence and placed two bottles of wine in a hold-all which he had with him. The shop assistant noticed that the wine had been taken and she located him up the street and recovered the bottles.

The issue of smoking outside public hospitals in Galway was raised at the Health Forum West meeting this month once more by chairman, Padraig Conneely, who stated there were problems for smokers wanting to have a cigarette since the ban was introduced last month.
