Club hurling returns

After the disappointment of losing by a single point to Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final two weeks ago, it is back to the senior club championship for Galway hurling supporters this weekend, with four preliminary quarter-finals down for decision.

Duggan Park will host a double header on Saturday evening with Cappataggle taking on Mullagh (4pm), followed by Tommy Larkins and Padraig Pearses at 5.30.

Connacht will also wear a special gold sleeve patches produced for the first time for the champions. The season opens in the Sportsground on September 3 when Connacht host Glasgow Warriors who Connacht overcame in the last season’s semi-final.
