It has been a demanding campaign for United, who have introduced several teenagers throughout the season, but the news that Luke and Brian Comer have made a 40-acre site in Mountain South, Athenry, available to the club for the future development of a training complex is a most welcome boost according to manager Alan Murphy.

European Youth Olympics
Robert McDonnell of Galway City Harriers competed in two events at the European Youth Olympics in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the Irish team last week. McDonnell excelled in the the 400m placing ninth overall and clocking a superb new best of 48.42, and also starred on the 4 x 400m relay team, which placed sixth in the final, to top a great week’s competition for him.
