Ní bhíodh sé ar an aer ach ar feadh beagáinín os cionn dhá uair an chloig sa lá i dtús aimsire, agus é le cloisteáil sna ceantair Ghaeltachta amháin.

New jobs for Galway as Sogeti announces expansion plans

A leading IT consultancy and services provider has announced that a number of jobs in Galway will be created, as well as in Dublin, through the expansion of its offices over the next three years.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation, Richard Bruton, announced on Tuesday that Sogeti, which has offices located in the Galway Technology Centre in Mervue, is to create 65 new jobs. Recruitment is already in progress and it is understood that there has been high interest shown in the positions which will be a mix of high skilled and graduate roles in the IT sector.

Go ahead punk, make my day. Just picture the scene. Dirty Harry aka Phil Hogan pointing his pistol in the face of the nation and asking “Do you feel lucky, You’re asking, did I fire five or did I fire six?” Yes, folk’s with just 72 hours until the deadline for the Household Charge, the country and the Government are playing the ultimate game of brinksmanship.

It is a case of waiting to see who is going to blink first and if the million or so households which have not yet registered blink, the flap of those eyelashes will represent a major coup for Minister Hogan and the Government.
