Largest Chinese state broadcaster to make programmes on Galway tourism

China’s largest state-run TV broadcaster, Xinhua, is to visit Galway next week to make programmes on tourism here, with a second programme in the pipeline focusing on trade and investment, that is according to Fine Gael Senator for Galway West, Fidelma Healy Eames.

Senator Healy Eames yesterday confirmed that Xinhua is to come to Galway and that the visit has come about as a result of the activity of the China-Ireland relations committee, of which Senator Healy Eames is chairperson.

Citylink announces express coach service between Galway and Cork

Galway-based Irish Citylink, one of Ireland's largest independent coach operators,has announced the creation of the first ever express coach service between Cork and Galway.

The new route, due to launch on 18 June, will provide the fastest travelling times between the cities and will feature early morning and late evening services. The Express route will operate six times daily and also will serve Limerick City and Cork Airport.

The Irish people have sent a strong statement of support for the building of a more stable Eurozone, that is according to the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Máire Geoghegan-Quinn.

Speaking following the referendum on the Fiscal Treaty referendum which returned an overall ‘Yes’ vote, Commissions Geoghegan-Quinn said: "The markets and international investors will now see Ireland as a safe and secure bet. This will certainly speed up Ireland's return to the financial markets and it will give us the same benefits as other signatories to the fiscal treaty.
