Chess congress to be held in city early next month

The 12th Galway Chess Congress, with support from Blackthorne International and the Irish Chess Union, will take place in the Menlo Park Hotel from October 4-6.
Players of all ages and abilities from across the country and abroad will battle it out over the weekend for a share of the €3,300 prize fund.

The contract to construct the four-storey building (gross floor area 5,345m?) has been awarded to BAM Building Ltd.
