These are probably the best known and best worn set of steps in Galway. They were built in the 1855 - 59 period while the present Augustinian Church was being constructed. The site was slightly higher than the road level so the steps were required at the front and the back of the church. The Augustinian connection with the city goes much further back than that.

SciFest success at Yeats College

For the fourth year funning Yeats College has received outstanding success at SciFest. This competition, held annually, provides a sterling opportunity for students to creatively engage with the various scientific fields. SciFest is a series of one-day science fairs for second-level students.

A SciFest fair consists of a competition and exhibition of projects, a prize-giving ceremony, and also includes a selection of science talks, and science demonstrations in the college laboratories.
