The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Dr. Katherine Zappone this week launched a public information campaign about the Government’s plans to deliver More Affordable Childcare to families from September.

Thi scampaign will target thousands of families who will qualify for enhanced childcare supports from September. It also will also target more than 4,000 childcare providers throughout the country. The information campaign will use a range of media, including a dedicated website (affordablechildcare.ie) to raise awareness among families of the childcare support that may be available to them.

The Galway Augustinians

These are probably the best known and best worn set of steps in Galway. They were built in the 1855 - 59 period while the present Augustinian Church was being constructed. The site was slightly higher than the road level so the steps were required at the front and the back of the church. The Augustinian connection with the city goes much further back than that.
