Children's swimming classes in Clarinbridge

Braemor Swimming Club has announced its return to classes in Clarinbridge on Fridays at 5.20pm and 6.10pm. The 5.20pm class caters for beginners and improvers. Under Braemor's expert care even the most nervous child can learn to swim. The club's experienced, qualified, teachers pay close attention to all pupils' technique, ensuring they learn to breathe correctly on front crawl.

The 6.15pm lane swimming class focuses on all four strokes and ensures pupils can swim for longer distances with ease. Swimming is an essential survival skill which all Braemor pupils can and do attain.

Kumon students receive awards at socially distanced ceremony

Blue balloons bounced at the Galway Greyhound Stadium on Sunday September 13 for the Kumon Galway 2020 Awards. Held outdoors with rigorous compliance to the current restrictions, each car served as a private auditorium for the event live streamed on YouTube by SoundtoLight. Families remained in their cars throughout except at their turn to collect their awards while distanced, masked, and sanitised. A socially distanced photoshoot followed with the Mayor of Galway, Cllr Mike Cubbard.

I have always been partial to a dressed fry, feeling the naked chip alone is just crying out to be dressed up, dolled up and given star billing. For too long the humble chip has always been that reliable partner to all of the other goodies on offer. The reliable sidekick, the wingman to the array of burgers, and fish and luscious chicken. There have been many late work nights when I would fall into the arms of a hot chip dressed with colesaw as if it were some sort of illicit encounter.

It is as if the combination of some sort of accompaniment to the wonderful Supermac chip was a secret to be kept to oneself. The favourite Irish chip is the Supermac chip, a chunkier version that has claimed an undefeated title in Ireland for generations, and now, it is to be adorned with a variety of savoury toppings to give it new life.
