Dublin indie-rock/pop quartet Delorentos (pictured) are this week’s PLAY IRISH artists. Listen out for their song ‘Did We Ever Really Try?’, from the band’s new EP Little Sparks, on Jon Richard’s Galway Bay FM show each day. Delorentos will also play a free all-ages show at the Roisin Dubh at 1pm this Saturday. Their third album will be out next year.

GET UP, Stand up, the weekly stand up comedy open mic night at Garvey’s Hotel and Bar, Eyre Square, takes place tonight from 9.30pm.
The show is open to the public and comedians, and admission is free. Every week there is a lively crowd and a load of up and coming comedians performing. Each comedian is allowed seven to eight minutes for his/her set. There will also be a comedy caption contest with the winner getting a prize at the end of the show.

BICYCLES WITH Umbrellas, is a new professionally produced anthology showcasing poetry, fiction, and memoir by students who completed the MA in writing at NUI Galway in 2010.
The book was edited by the students themselves and they also had to raise the money to publish it and then organise a programme of launches around the country to promote the publication - no small task.
