THE ACCESS Music Project Sessions returns to Monroe’s Backstage Beer on Thursday March 1 at 8.30pm and will showcase Galway and Irish talent.

Starting off on March 1 are Tuam poet and singer-songwriter Seamus Ruttledge, along with Court & Spark and Tammie Biggs. They will be followed at 11pm by trad-rock band The Rye.

The Tedfest Toilet Duck Awards 2012 takes place on Tuesday at 8.30pm and will see eight up and coming comedians - Niamh Marron, Kevin McGahern, Jim Elliott, Trevor Browne, Neil Hickey, George Fox, Conor O’Toole, and Tomie James - go head to head for a comedic war of wits, taking on each other, until there is only one left standing.

A CHARITY open mic night to raise funds for the children's ‘Terremoto’ soccer club in Montevideo, Uruguay, takes place this Saturday in Monroe’s Live.

The event is being organised between Galway students and the Galway Voice Studio. Some 20 singers will be performing on the night and there will be a raffle with lots of prizes.
