CHRISTMAS CROONERS, a show featuring the Christmas songs of Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, and Frank Sinatra, will be performed at the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday December 9 at 8pm
Staged in the style of the Andy Williams Christmas Show, complete with Christmas trees, and a rocking chair, a cast of West-End singers - David Tughan (as Sinatra), Jez Unwin (Crosby), and Jim Whitley (Cole), and Will Fitzgerald (various roles) - backed by the Jazz All-Stars Band will perform ‘The Christmas Song (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire)’, ‘Little Drummer Boy’, ‘White Christmas’, ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’, and ‘Silent Night’.

UNSIGNED GALWAY bands are sought to take enter The JD Set - Jack Daniel’s competition for unsigned bands in Ireland - and there is only another three weeks left to enter.
Unsigned bands should register at www.thejdset.ie or send a demo to The JD Set, 12 Camden Row, Dublin 8, for the chance to be one of 30 bands who will be shortlisted in January 2009 to play in The JD Set heats in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Waterford next year.

HANDEL’S CELEBRATED Messiah will be performed by the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Resurgam in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church on Friday December 12 at 7.30pm.
The conductor will be Gary Cooper. Performers will include Katherine Manley (soprano), Christopher Ainslie (counter-tenor), James Oxley (tenor), and Martin Robson (bass). The Irish Baroque Orchestra and Resurgam are regarded as two of Ireland’s most dynamic young ensembles.
