THE BLUES Brothers, one of the best loved films of all time, will be shown in The Eye Cinema on Monday at 7pm.
By resurrecting their Blues Brothers Band for one big fundraising concert, the brothers (John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd) hope to raise the €5,000 to save the local Catholic orphanage, which was also their childhood home.

REGARDED AS the greatest graphic novel of all time, Alan Moore’s Watchmen will finally reach the big screen this Friday.
Watchmen, directed by Zack Snyder, is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the Doomsday Clock is permanently set at five minutes to midnight.

TOMORROW SEES the release of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and The Eye Cinema has planned fun activities for children coming to the movies this Saturday and Sunday.
In Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo manage to leave Madagascar and land in the vast plains of Africa. Africa seems like a great place...but is it better than their Central Park home?

THE EYE Cinema, Wellpark, is to take part in Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival, next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Standard Operating Procedure, directed by filmmaker Errol Morris opens the festival on Monday. Football Undercover, an exploration of the Iranian women’s football team’s first official friendly match in front of cheering fans, is on Tuesday. The final screening is Please Vote for Me, focusing on a Chinese primary school’s first encounter with democracy.
