GALWAY-BASED record label Rusted Rail will host a mini-tour of some of the acts on its roster, taking in gigs in Galway city and Tuam.
The first show takes place in Citóg in The Cellar Bar this evening from 9pm. Playing are The Driftwood Manor, the excellent folk band centred on the talented songwriter Eddie Keenan. Check out their magnificent new EP Dominican Black Abbey; singer-songwriter Paul O’Reilly; and the experimental explorations of Loner Deluxe. Admission is free.

NORTH AFRICAN and French films will feature strongly in the new Galway Film Society autumn/winter season programme, which runs from September 23 to December 9 at the Town Hall Theatre.
Film goers can look forward to seeing stars like Audrey Tautou and Gael Garcia Bernal and films directed by Ismael Ferroukhi and Benicio del Toro.

According to Nialler9, Dubliner Marcus has been called “the Godfather of DFA Records”, influencing the foundation of the label which was started by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy.
