THE BALLINASLOE artist collective Group 8 launch their third annual exhibition of art and writing, Made in Ballinasloe, this Saturday at 7pm in The Regency Room in Hayden’s Hotel.

Made in Ballinasloe is a collaborative work the group undertook around the theme of all the things that are made in the town and its environs. There will be sculpture, photography, installations, textile work, video and paintings.

THE BOLSHOI Ballet’s production of Le Corsaire will be broadcast live via satellite to The Eye Cinema this Sunday at 3pm.

The romantic swashbuckling tale of a beautiful slave girl, rescued from a forced marriage by a handsome pirate is one of the great classics of Russian ballet. It features lush romantic music by Adolphe Adam and the classic choreography by Marius Petipa, re-fashioned for this production by Alexei Ratmansky and Yuri Burlaka.

THE GOSPEL Wedding Group will perform the next Adventures In Music concert in the St Patrick’s Brassband Hall this Sunday.

The Gospel Wedding Group features 12 singers who have been performing together for the past four years. The ensemble is made up of solo voices who specialise in lush harmonies, energetic performances, gospel music, and harmony singing, both a cappella and accompanied.

The show is open to the public and comedians, and admission is free. Every week there is a lively crowd and a load of up and coming comedians performing. Each comedian is allowed seven to eight minutes for his/her set.
