Galway to celebrate Africa Day today

Today is Africa Day and is a day for Galwegians and the city’s African community to celebrate and experience each other’s culture and to stimulate exchange between different music traditions.
Africa Day is an initiative of Irish Aid to recognise and acknowledge the African diaspora living in Galway. The Galway City Council is the implementing body of this initiative. Africa Day is also an international event, commemorating the May 25 1963 foundation of the Organisation of African Unity.
