Caoimhin Ó Raghallaigh and Cormac Begley in concert

Trad duo to play Róisín Dubh this weekend

HE PLAYS a 10-string fiddle called the Hardanger d'Amore, has recorded 12 albums, and worked with The Gloaming. This month he tours with Cormac Begley, and they will play the Róisín Dubh.

He is Caoimhin Ó Raghallaigh, the acclaimed Irish trad fiddle player who has performed at the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Lincoln Center. With Begley, he shares a common interest in the trad music of Kerry and Clare.

Begley is founder of Airt and award winning Tunes In The Church concert series in Galway and Dublin. In 2014, he received the Seán Ó Riada Award for concertina playing. He has also worked with fellow concertina player, Jack Talty and in Ré with Liam Ó Maonlaí.

At the Róisín Begly will play bass, baritone, and piccolo concertinas, while Ó Raghallaigh will be on 's 10-string Hardanger d'Amore, which features five bowed gut strings on top plus five sympathetic strings below.
