Tribe time cocktail corner

Coming into the cold and wet weather what better way to warm up then with a spiced pumpkin sour. This is very easy to make at home and enjoy in the cocktail below, or use the pureé in a hot drink with a drop or two of brandy or rum.


50ml Gossling black seal rum

5ml Disaronno Amaretto

25ml spiced pumpkin pureé

30ml ruby grapefruit juice

10ml lime juice

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Garnish with a grapefruit peel.

To make the pumpkin pureé

Cut a pumpkin in half, clean the inside and peel. Dice the pumpkin and sweat it off in a large pot with nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla pod, salt, and pepper. Add water and bring to the boil then let simmer for 15 minutes. Add sugar until desired sweetness, strain the pumpkin from the water, and blend. This will keep for up to five days refrigerated.
