AT THE centre of the Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway, and located in the centre of the city, the Spiegeltent ‘Jean Louis’ in Eyre Square, promises to be a centre of laughter, hosting many of the festival's flagship events.

Located between the Browne Doorway and the Eyre Square fountain, the Spiegeltent is a magnificent, 1930s styled, mirrored marquee, hosting what The Guardian has described as ‘Talent-wise...a selection of only the very best." Tonight the Spiegeltent hosts Al Porter, Seann Walsh, Hal Cruttenden and Karl Spain at 7pm, followed by a second show with Jason Manford, Phill Jupitus, Tanyalee Davis, and Eric Lalor at 9.30pm.

Tomorrow it's David McSavage, Terry Alderton, John Hastings, and Colin Murphy at 7pm; followed by Jason Byrne, Seann Walsh, Eddie Brill, and Fred Cooke at 9.30pm. Sunday is the turn of Bernard O'Shea, Foil Arms & Hog, Aisling Bea, and Gearoid Farrelly at 7pm; with Jason Byrne, Terry Alderton, Mike Wilmot, and Barry Murphy at 9.30pm. Saturday is the turn of Abandoman, Andrew Maxwell, Kevin McGahern, and Barry Murphy at 7pm; and PJ Gallagher, Aishling Bea, The Two Johns, and Colin Murphy at 9.30pm.

Sunday marks the conclusion of the carnival and the closing gala on Bank Holiday Monday at 8pm, hosted by Karl Spain. The line-up remains secret and will not be announced until much later in the week. Podcasts, laughter yoga, and comedy showcases fill up the weekend lunchtime slots. All shows are fully seated and onsite bars will cater for your every need. Tickets for the remaining Spiegeltent shows are selling fast.

"With our main venue and festival hub front and centre in Eyre Square, we wanted to showcase the sheer volume of comedic talent we have booked," said festival director Kevin Healy. "That’s why all our Spiegeltent shows are mixed bills. You get to experience 20 minutes of the very best material from the very funniest comics. It’s win-win really. They give everything and you don’t get too tired of any of them. Even if you do, there’ll be another one on shortly!’
