Fund-raising concert to take place in Oughterard

A concert will take place in Oughterard next Friday December 12 to aid with the cost of felling two trees in the grounds of Kilcummin parish church.

The trees are in a dangerous condition and are being knocked down at a cost of €4,000. One tree is partially dead and the other is diseased, the trees are situated adjacent to the main street in Oughterard and they pose real danger to the public if they were to fall. The benefit concert takes place in Kilcummin church from 8pm and features a range of performers including accordion player Sean Gavin, guitar player Kevin Hough, and flute player Gary Hastings. In addition to this, well known artist Denis Geoghegan will perform along with local musicians and singers. Tickets are €10 and are available at the door. All proceeds raised from the concert will go towards the cost of removing the two trees. Anybody seeking further information about the event can contact 086 3981572
