Trad night for Pieta House

A night of traditional folk music will take place in The Forge, Moycullen, this Friday, December 5, to raise funds for the Pieta House West facility in Tuam which provides counselling to people who are self-harming or suicidal.

On stage will be the Byrne brothers from Ballinahallia, Moycullen, comprising twins Darren and Conor and their brother Killian, who wanted to use their music to raise money for this good cause.

They play the banjo and guitar and sing ballads and folk songs. They will be joined during the night by some of their friends in the music scene, Cliona Begley, a fiddler and sean-nos dancer; Saibh Faherty; Padraic Keane, an uilinn pipe player and the Gradam Ceol Musician of the Year; Pecker Dunne junior, who plays guitar/banjo; James Frawley; and Cormac Begley, who plays the concertina.

MC on the night is Bernie Ní Fhlatharta of the Connacht Tribune.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are €10. There will be a raffle with prizes sponsored by the Moycullen business community.
