Emmerdale actress as Eva Cassidy in Town Hall

BAD GIRLS and Emmerdale actress Nicole Faraday will play the role of Eva Cassidy in the internationally acclaimed show about the late singer’s life.

Over The Rainbow - The Eva Cassidy Story is in the Town Hall Theatre this Monday at 8pm, and also features County Down singer Rose-Marie - who has sold some 15 million albums worldwide - as Barbara Cassidy, Eva’s mother.

Eva Cassidy was a virtual unknown at the time of her death in 1996, aged just 33. Yet four years later, following extensive airplay by Sir Terry Wogan, Eva’s jazz and blues renditions of various standards, became a sensation with her album topping the British charts.

The show will feature such songs as ‘Fields Of Gold’, ‘Songbird’, and ‘Autumn Leaves’. Rose-Marie said of Over The Rainbow: “This is a magical show - much more than a musical life story. This is a show for anyone who has lost someone they love; it’s a thoroughly entertaining and memorable experience.”

From its first performance in 2004, the show has gone on to win the praise of Mick Fleetwood, Sting, Nora Jones, Katie Melua, and Chris De Burgh.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
