Riverrun, featuring acclaimed theatre artist Olwen Fouéré, opened this weekend at Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and this week Fouéré was awarded a Stage Award for Acting Excellence by The Stage, Britain’s leading weekly theatre and entertainment industry newspaper.
“I am delighted to receive this generous acknowledgement from The Stage,” said Ms Fouéré. “It has been a great pleasure to bring riverrun to audiences from Galway to London and now Edinburgh, and experience how they are carried by the magic of Finnegans Wake and Joyce’s unique language.

The show was adapted by Fouéré from the final section of James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. Riverrun runs at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, until August 24 and tours to BAM, New York, from September 1 to 20 and afterwards to Princeton University.
