The Lodge at Ashford Castle, Co Mayo, will play host to a special ladies’ lunch on Friday June 13 when the National Breast Cancer Research Institute will hold its annual Pink Afternoon in aid of the charity.

This popular event sees women of all ages get together for an afternoon of food and fun in support of breast cancer research.

The day will begin at 12 noon with a drinks reception, followed by lunch prepared by the hotel’s celebrated chefs before entertainment provided by the magician Steve Spade. Spade is renowned as a master illusionist and has performed for Mike Tyson, Rhianna, and Kevin Spacey.

Another highlight of the day will be a millinery showcase featuring works from Irish milliners Andrea Tighe, Claire Lillis, Kerry Kain, and Mags Costello.

There will also be a prize on the day for the winner of the Milliners’ Favourite, awarded to the most stylish woman, a silent auction, and music late into the night from Roddy Wyer.

Tickets are €65 per person and are available by contacting Johanna Downes on 086 8355997 or the NBCRI directly on 091 526677, as well as emailing [email protected].
